Shell House Talks - Gallery - St. Michael's Cave - Gibraltar

St. Michael's Cave with its unique auditorium is a natural grotto. It stands 1,400' near the summit of the Rock of Gibraltar.
In 1,000 BC Phoenicians called it Calpe. Some believe it is linked with Africa by a 15 mile subterranean passage, which gave rise to the colonies of wild Barbary Apes that inhabit the Rock. Inside the grotto are dramatic stalactites, stalagmites and stalactos.
